The film 'Karuppu', starring Suriya and directed by RJ Balaji, became a blockbuster hit at the box office after its theatrical release. However, after its recent OTT release, the film has landed in controversy as viewers began pointing out alleged technical flaws in several scenes.

Netizens claimed that in some action sequences, body doubles were used and face swapping was done using VFX, sharing screenshots as proof. Responding to the criticism, RJ Balaji said audiences often scrutinize every frame in OTT releases and focus on minor flaws, but the film’s content should be valued more than technical issues. He also shared that he recently met Chief Minister Vijay, who appreciated the film’s success and the audience response.
