Veteran film writer Paruchuri Gopala Krishna has shared his views on Ravi Teja’s Irumudi in his latest “Paruchuri Palukulu” analysis. He praised the film’s reported commercial performance, saying that a movie made on a budget of around ₹35 crore earning more than ₹300 crore is significant. He said the film reflects the aspirations of producers who expect a return on their investment and appreciated the father-daughter relationship at the heart of the story. He also compared the emotional element to Sarpayagam and said the title Irumudi created curiosity among audiences by suggesting a devotional connection.
Paruchuri Gopala Krishna also discussed the film’s screenplay and characterisation. He appreciated the way the identity of the antagonist was kept under wraps and said the final half-hour was one of the film’s strengths because of its suspense. He particularly highlighted Sai Kumar’s Guruswamy character and the emotional treatment given to the child’s death. At the same time, he questioned whether some character arcs, including those played by Sai Kumar and Ajay Ghosh, could have been concluded differently. He also shared an alternate thought about the climax and said filmmakers should never underestimate the intelligence of audiences. Irumudi is currently streaming on Netflix.
