Director Rahul Sankrityan has clarified a major misconception surrounding his upcoming film ‘Ranabaali’. He said the film has no connection to India’s Independence movement or the freedom struggle. Instead, the story unfolds in a unique world where the characters have very limited knowledge of the outside world.

Rahul explained that the characters are unaware of how vast the country is and believe that Madras is the end of the earth. They consider their own village to be an entire country. His clarification has offered audiences a glimpse into the film’s unusual setting and perspective, further increasing curiosity around ‘Ranabaali’.
