Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s upcoming period action drama Ranabaali is gearing up for its theatrical release on the 16th of this month. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, the film is directed by Rahul Sankrityan. The pre-release event was held in Hyderabad on Tuesday night, with several prominent filmmakers attending as special guests. Addressing the gathering, Vijay said the film would make the Telugu film industry proud. He added that he and Rahul had set out to create a mass-oriented action drama with a rural, period setting.
Vijay said the film explores an important chapter of history that has remained largely hidden, while also urging people to use water, electricity, and food responsibly. Rashmika described Ranabaali as a special film, praising the dedication of the cast and crew and highlighting the emotional and romantic elements in her character’s story. Director Rahul Sankrityan explained that the narrative originated from the themes of hunger and food, exploring how hunger was exploited during British rule. He said telling this historical story was important to him as a filmmaker and expressed confidence that audiences would witness a powerful performance from Vijay Deverakonda.
