The post reportedly criticized her role, stating that her character did not receive due importance in the film, which quickly drew attention online.

The review was titled “Peddi: The greatest injustice done to a heroine in Indian cinema history,” and Janhvi’s like on the post sparked speculation. While some users felt she was indirectly agreeing with the criticism of her role, others believed it could have been accidental. She later unliked the post, but screenshots had already gone viral. Janhvi plays the character “Achiyyamma” in the film, which was made on a reported budget of ₹350 crore and opened strongly at the box office, earning around ₹135 crore on day one including premieres.
