Social media discussions surrounding films have increasingly become a talking point in Tollywood, and Sundeep Kishan’s ‘Sigma’ is now at the centre of a similar debate. Directed by Jason Sanjay, the film arrived in theatres on October 2. Ahead of its release, Sundeep Kishan posted a strongly worded message alleging that deliberate negative posts targeting him and his film had been circulating for some time. He claimed to know who was behind the campaign and who was funding it, triggering speculation about whom he was referring to. However, the actor did not name anyone in his post.
Another post attributed to a film critic has also fuelled the discussion, with some linking its comments about digital platforms and alleged negative campaigning to the ‘Sigma’ controversy. There is no clear confirmation that the post was directed at Sundeep Kishan. Meanwhile, reactions from audiences following the film’s release have included positive comments, particularly about the first half, interval sequence and Sundeep’s performance. S. Thaman’s background score has also received appreciation for enhancing the action sequences. The combination of the pre-release social media controversy and the audience response has generated further curiosity around the film.
