Nandamuri Balakrishna expressed deep grief over the demise of veteran filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, recalling his close association with the Nandamuri family. Balakrishna said he had the privilege of working with Singeetam on three memorable classics — ‘Aditya 369’, ‘Bhairava Dweepam’ and ‘Sri Krishnarjuna Vijayam’. He recalled that the films allowed him to portray characters across four major genres, including social, historical, folklore and mythological cinema, and said the memories would remain unforgettable.
Balakrishna also recalled that Singeetam began his film career as an assistant to legendary filmmaker K.V. Reddy on the iconic ‘Mayabazar’, in which his father, N.T. Rama Rao, played Lord Krishna. Singeetam later worked as an associate on several films featuring NTR, leading to a special bond with the Nandamuri family beyond cinema. Describing Singeetam as a true legendary filmmaker, Balakrishna said he continued experimenting with films in various Indian languages until the age of 94. He called his demise a personal irreparable loss and a great loss to Indian cinema, while offering his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
