Filmmaker Sudha Kongara has approached the Madras High Court over the non-payment of her remuneration for directing ‘Parasakthi’. Her counsel informed the court that out of the agreed remuneration of ₹17.70 crore, including GST, only ₹9.31 crore has been paid, leaving an outstanding balance of ₹8.39 crore. The petition alleges that despite claiming the film earned over ₹100 crore at the box office, the producers have failed to clear the remaining dues.
Sudha Kongara has requested the court to restrain the release of ‘Idhayam Murali’, another film being produced by Dawn Pictures, until her full remuneration is paid. The Madras High Court directed the production house to file a counter-affidavit and also ordered that ‘Parasakthi’ should not be released on satellite platforms until the next hearing. The case is being heard by Justice Kumaresh Babu.
