In a lengthy Instagram statement shared on August 2, he reminded the public that a special CBI court acquitted him in April 2023 after finding insufficient evidence to support the allegation of abetment to suicide. He expressed disappointment that social media discussions and reports continue to question the verdict despite the legal proceedings having ended.

The actor reflected on how the case changed his life, saying he was only 20 years old when the incident occurred and had known Jiah Khan for just four months. He revealed that the legal battle consumed nearly 14 years of his life, affecting both his career and personal well-being. Pancholi also appealed to the public to respect Jiah Khan’s memory, avoid sensationalising the tragedy, and rely on verified court records instead of unverified claims.
