Ace filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli is set to redefine the scale of Indian cinema with his upcoming action-adventure film Varanasi. Reportedly being made on a massive budget of ₹1,300–1,400 crore, the project is expected to become the most expensive Indian film ever produced. The film stars Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles and has already generated enormous anticipation among movie enthusiasts.
Unlike many big-budget productions that rely heavily on visual effects, Varanasi is reportedly focusing on real-world filmmaking. A 120-member crew has already completed schedules in Kenya's forests and national parks, and the team is expected to shoot key sequences on the Ross Ice Shelf in Antarctica. The makers aim to deliver an authentic cinematic experience through extensive location-based filming.
