Veteran Actor Pradeep Rawat Passes Away at 74

Veteran actor Pradeep Rawat passed away following a heart attack, leaving the Indian film fraternity in deep mourning. Widely admired for his commanding screen presence and intense villainous performances, he built a successful career across Telugu, Hindi and Tamil cinema. Fans and several film personalities paid tribute to the actor, remembering his remarkable contribution to Indian cinema.

Born on January 21, 1952, in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Rawat began his acting journey as Ashwatthama in B.R. Chopra's Mahabharat television series. He later gained immense popularity in Telugu cinema with S.S. Rajamouli's Sye and went on to star in films including Chatrapathi, Bhadra, Desamuduru, Yogi, Stalin, Nayak, Baadshah, Sarainodu and Waltair Veerayya. His performances in Lagaan, Sarfarosh and Ghajini also earned him nationwide acclaim, while his role in Sye won him the Nandi Award, Filmfare Award (Telugu) and Santosham Award for Best Villain.
