

The pre-release event of Tamil star Suriya’s upcoming film ‘Viswanath & Sons’ was held grandly on Tuesday evening at Kotla Vijay Bhaskar Reddy Stadium in Hyderabad. Directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, the film stars Mamitha Baiju as the female lead. Presented by Srikara Studios, the film features music by G.V. Prakash Kumar. Promising natural humour, emotional moments and strong family values, ‘Viswanath & Sons’ is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14, 2026. The songs, teaser and trailer have already generated considerable interest among audiences.
The event witnessed the participation of Suriya, director Venky Atluri, producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, actress Mamitha Baiju, senior actress Radhika Sarathkumar, Jubilee Hills MLA Naveen Yadav and lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry.
Suriya thanked his fans in both Telugu states for their continued affection over the past 28 years and said their support had brought him to where he is today. He praised director Venky Atluri and producer Naga Vamsi for making the film possible and said the movie would be loved by audiences. He also recalled the special place his Telugu fans have given to ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Suriya S/o Krishnan’. Suriya praised the entire technical team and said his six-month stay in Hyderabad during the shoot would remain unforgettable.
Venky Atluri thanked the Telangana government, police department and officials for supporting the event and the film industry. He said the movie gave him immense satisfaction and expressed confidence that audiences would experience the same feeling in theatres. According to Venky, the film is not only for Suriya’s fans but also for their families. He promised that viewers would have a smile on their faces throughout the film and praised Suriya as both a great actor and a wonderful human being.
Producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi said Telugu audiences have a special emotional connection with Suriya’s ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Suriya S/o Krishnan’. He expressed confidence that ‘Viswanath & Sons’ would earn a similar place in their hearts. He revealed that the story revolves around the bond between a mother and her son and said everyone who loves their mother would connect with the film. Naga Vamsi also praised Suriya’s character design and said the movie would leave audiences with the satisfaction of watching a good film.
Mamitha Baiju thanked producer Naga Vamsi and director Venky Atluri for giving her the opportunity to be part of the film. She said working with Suriya was a fortunate experience and expressed her desire to collaborate with him again. Mamitha also said she learned many things from senior actress Radhika Sarathkumar during the film. She appealed to audiences to watch ‘Viswanath & Sons’ with their families when it releases on August 14.
Radhika Sarathkumar said the film is particularly special to her and praised the entire team for their efforts. While the film is being described as a family entertainer, she said she sees it as a story about love and relationships that can be enjoyed with both family and friends. She praised Venky Atluri’s writing, Naga Vamsi’s production and Suriya’s sincerity as an actor and human being. Radhika also expressed confidence in Mamitha Baiju’s future and said the film would strike an emotional chord with audiences.
Lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry said the film had shown signs of being a promising entertainer from the beginning. He highlighted Suriya’s strong following among Telugu audiences and said working on the film was a special experience for him. He penned three songs for the movie under G.V. Prakash Kumar’s musical direction and noted that the released songs had already received a strong response. He praised Venky Atluri’s writing and expressed confidence that the film would appeal particularly to family audiences.
