The highly anticipated film Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra under the direction of S.S. Rajamouli, continues to generate enormous buzz across the industry. Every update related to the big-budget project has attracted widespread attention, and discussions are now centering around its digital streaming rights. Despite the film’s massive hype and global appeal, reports suggest that the OTT deal has not yet been finalized.
According to industry reports, the makers are reportedly seeking between ₹400 crore and ₹500 crore for the film’s digital rights. While the project is expected to be one of the biggest cinematic events in Indian cinema, OTT platforms are said to be carefully evaluating the investment, as the same amount could secure the rights to several smaller films. Negotiations are reportedly ongoing, with a prominent producer acting as a mediator between the production team and various streaming platforms. The final deal and the platform that acquires the rights remain a major talking point in film circles.
