Sardar 2: Karthi’s Failed Sequel Creates a Sensation on OTT!

Karthi’s Sardar 2, directed by P. S. Mithran, had high expectations following the success of the first installment. The original Sardar received a positive response in both Telugu and Tamil markets for its interesting concept. However, the sequel failed to repeat the impact at the box office and turned out to be a disappointment in theatres.

The film made its OTT debut just three weeks after its theatrical release, with Amazon Prime Video bringing the spy action thriller to audiences across multiple Indian languages. Interestingly, Sardar 2 is now receiving a much stronger response on the streaming platform and has reportedly reached the No. 1 trending position in India. The unexpected digital reception has sparked interest, especially after the film struggled to attract audiences in theatres. Ashika Ranganath, Malavika Mohanan and S. J. Suryah are among the key cast members, while Prince Pictures produced the film.
