AP Cabinet Takes Key Decisions

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, took several important decisions on welfare, agriculture, infrastructure, and governance. The Cabinet approved a change in the Deepam-2 scheme under which beneficiaries will receive LPG subsidy amounts directly into their bank accounts once every four months, irrespective of when cylinders are booked. The meeting also focused on the impact of El Niño, with the Chief Minister directing officials to promote crop planning based on water availability, provide subsidies for seed balls, prioritise drinking water, and ensure that all eligible weavers are covered under the Netanna Sevalo scheme.

The Cabinet also reviewed the Polavaram Project, river-linking plans, support measures for tobacco farmers, North Andhra development, and government recruitment. Discussions were held on dedicating the Polavaram Project to the nation during the upcoming Godavari Pushkaralu. The Chief Minister said the Centre is supportive of the Polavaram–Banakacherla river-linking project. He highlighted the rapid development of North Andhra through major projects, including Bhogapuram Airport, data centres, steel plants, ports, railway infrastructure, and IT investments. Departments were also instructed to expedite utilisation of Central funds and improve administrative efficiency.
