AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has approached the Supreme Court over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Through his advocate, Nizamuddin Pasha, Owaisi requested Chief Justice of India Surya Kant to list the petition for hearing on October 15. The plea seeks consideration alongside other petitions related to the electoral roll revision process.
The Supreme Court indicated that Owaisi’s petition would be heard, bringing the matter into focus ahead of the proposed hearing date. The SIR process has drawn legal attention, with multiple petitions concerning the revision of voter lists before the court. The proceedings are expected to address the issues raised in the petitions challenging or questioning aspects of the electoral roll revision process.
