A major reshuffle in the Union Cabinet is likely to take place on June 28 (Sunday) or June 29 (Monday), according to political sources. Reports suggest that Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently met President Droupadi Murmu to discuss the proposed dates and possible changes in the cabinet lineup. The reshuffle is expected to bring significant changes, including the removal of some long-serving ministers.
Sources indicate that the revamp may focus on bringing “new energy” into the cabinet in line with Gen Z aspirations and governance priorities. Former RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das is reportedly being considered for a ministerial role. There is also speculation that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman may be shifted from the Finance Ministry to the Education portfolio, although no official confirmation has been made yet.
