A significant development has emerged in the disproportionate assets cases involving YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. According to the supplied information, the CBI court has decided to take up the Enforcement Directorate (ED) cases for day-to-day hearings alongside the proceedings in the related CBI cases. The court is also expected to examine Jagan and around 70 other accused persons individually as part of the proceedings. The development concerns nine ED charge sheets that have reportedly remained pending before the court for nearly a decade.
The Enforcement Directorate has reportedly stated that the proceedings have been delayed because discharge petitions filed by the accused have not yet been decided. Officials have also approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking daily hearings in the ED cases to expedite the process. The latest development could move the long-pending proceedings forward, although the next steps will depend on the court’s schedule and decisions on the pending applications.
