Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said he was pleased to see the Prakasam Barrage brimming with Godavari waters. While returning to his Undavalli residence after attending the World Tribal Day programme in Vijayawada, the Chief Minister stopped at the barrage and reviewed the water situation. Officials briefed him that 17.52 TMC of Godavari water had so far been successfully diverted to the Krishna Delta through the Pattiseema project during the current season. They said 3,928 cusecs were being released into the Krishna Eastern Main Canal, 3,115 cusecs into the Western Main Canal and 115 cusecs into the Guntur Channel.
Naidu said efficient water management would help the state deal with El Niño conditions and assured that all necessary steps were being taken to prevent irrigation problems for farmers. He emphasised the importance of effectively managing available water resources and ensuring adequate supplies to the Krishna Delta. The Chief Minister also directed officials to continue monitoring water management and take timely measures to meet the irrigation requirements of farmers.
