BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao has called on party workers and leaders to counter Congress’s allegations regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana. He made these remarks during a meeting with party cell conveners, senior leaders, state spokespersons and media panelists at the BJP’s state office in Hyderabad. Rao urged party cadres to explain the importance of maintaining accurate electoral rolls and to communicate the party’s position to people at the grassroots level.
Rao alleged that Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy were targeting constitutional institutions after facing electoral setbacks. He defended the Election Commission’s efforts to remove bogus voter entries and prepare transparent electoral rolls in accordance with applicable guidelines. He also asked party workers to counter what the BJP describes as Congress’s “vote theft” campaign and highlight how reliable voter lists can strengthen democratic processes. These remarks represent the BJP’s position on the issue.
