Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind launched a sharp attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing the state government of failing to effectively manage paddy procurement and shifting the blame onto the Central Government. Speaking at a press conference held at the BJP state headquarters, Arvind criticized the Chief Minister's remarks about dumping paddy in front of BJP leaders' residences. He stated that such comments were irresponsible and unbecoming of a person holding the state's highest executive office.
Arvind argued that it was the responsibility of the state government to establish procurement centers well before the harvest season and ensure that farmers did not face difficulties in selling their produce. He alleged that the government failed in planning and implementation, and was now attempting to divert attention by blaming the Centre. He also questioned how vehicles were readily available for illegal sand transportation while shortages were being cited for paddy transportation. According to him, the state government also has pending dues related to paddy procurement and food grain management.
Demanding accountability, the BJP MP said that if the Chief Minister was unable to govern effectively, he should resign from his post. Arvind also criticized the government's focus on projects such as Future City while, according to him, several pressing urban and rural issues remain unresolved. He further alleged that the Congress government had failed to fulfill promises related to unemployment allowance, rural development, and irrigation projects, and urged the Chief Minister to answer questions regarding the implementation of public commitments.
