Former minister and BRSLP Deputy Floor Leader Harish Rao has called for the successful conduct of a massive public meeting titled ‘Singareni Karmika Garjana’ in Ramagundam on October 14. The meeting will be held at 5 pm and BRS working president KTR will attend as the chief guest, he said. Speaking to the media after a meeting with TBGKS leaders and public representatives from Singareni areas at Telangana Bhavan, Harish Rao demanded that workers be given their full share of profits, eligible dependents be provided jobs through medical boards, Singareni elections be held immediately and pending dues to the company be cleared.
Harish Rao alleged that Singareni’s financial and administrative situation has deteriorated since the Congress government came to power. He said the company reported profits of Rs 2,022 crore in 2022–23, Rs 4,712 crore in 2023–24 and Rs 6,394 crore in 2024–25, but profits for the current year have not yet been declared. He alleged that payments of around Rs 50,000 crore due to Singareni from the government and GENCO remain pending. He also demanded implementation of rights under GO 76, removal of the alleged restrictions on dependent jobs and an end to any moves towards privatisation of Singareni. He urged Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy to take steps to allocate new mines to the company.
