BRS leader Kalvakuntla Kavitha interacted with workers during a gate meeting at Kakatiya Khani-5 mine in Bhupalpally, addressing their concerns. She gave a one-month deadline to the Telangana government and Singareni management to announce schedules for conducting at least two medical boards every month.
Kavitha warned that if a medical board is not set up by July 20, she will launch a hunger strike in a Gandhian manner. She demanded that pending medical examinations for 1,200 workers be completed and cited a previous protest in Khammam that resulted in housing benefits for affected families.
