MP and actress Kangana Ranaut’s remarks about Gen Z recently sparked a major controversy. Responding to the backlash, she clarified that her comments were not directed at the entire youth population of the country. She said she was referring only to certain individuals who had allegedly described themselves as “cockroaches”. Kangana maintained that her point was clear and that it was incorrect to portray her remarks as an attack on Gen Z as a whole.
Kangana had earlier made strong comments while referring to videos of Gen Z protesters linked to the NEET paper leak controversy. She described Gen Z as a “gutter generation” and criticised the protesters’ social media reels, language and manner of speaking. Her remarks drew criticism on social media. In her latest response, Kangana reiterated that she was referring to a specific group of people and not making a statement about the entire younger generation.
