Telangana Rakshana Sena president Kalvakuntla Kavitha addressed a meeting on women's reservation in legislatures organized by NCRW at Himayatnagar. She urged women to demonstrate their strength and demanded the immediate implementation of the Women's Reservation Bill. Kavitha also proposed organizing a massive gathering at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan.
She said meaningful change in society is possible only when women occupy powerful positions in politics. Kavitha emphasized the need for legally guaranteed reservations and stated that women often face barriers after reaching a certain level in public life. She called for creating more women leaders through special initiatives.
Kavitha criticized the delay in implementing the Women's Reservation Bill. She recalled the protests held at Jantar Mantar and the efforts made with the support of 18 political parties to pressure the Centre. She urged women to use their voting power to secure their rights and assured that her party would provide at least 33 percent representation to women, with the possibility of increasing it to 50 percent.
