BRS working president and former Telangana minister K.T. Rama Rao has issued a legal notice over a report concerning the alleged temporary seizure of his passport. His legal team has described the report as factually incorrect and misleading, stating that the special court had not issued any order directing the seizure of his passport.
According to the legal notice, the ACB investigating officer had only filed a memo before the special court seeking appropriate directions regarding the passport. The notice also referred to a show-cause notice issued by the Regional Passport Office under Section 10(3)(e) of the Passports Act, giving KTR 15 days to submit his explanation. His legal team has demanded immediate withdrawal of the report, publication of a correction with the same prominence and an unconditional apology. It also warned of further legal action if the demands are not met within 48 hours.
