Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has reflected on one of the most emotional phases of her political career, revealing that she "cried the whole night" after not receiving a Lok Sabha ticket in 2014. Speaking in a recent interview, Moitra said the disappointment was overwhelming, but recalled that then-TMC leader and current West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari stood by her and offered encouragement during that difficult period. She said his support helped her regain confidence at a crucial stage of her political journey.
Moitra also spoke about her cordial personal relationship with Suvendu Adhikari during their time together in the Trinamool Congress. She recalled that he actively campaigned for her during her first major election when only a few leaders extended support. Stressing that personal bonds can exist despite political differences, Moitra's remarks have drawn attention amid the current political rivalry between the TMC and BJP in West Bengal, triggering widespread discussion on social media.
