The Monsoon Session of Parliament entered its 16th day today, with only a few days remaining before the session concludes on August 13. Uncertainty continues over several key legislative proposals, including the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) Amendment Bill 2026. There is also no clear indication yet on the proposed delimitation and women’s reservation-related bills.
With limited sitting days left, attention is focused on whether the government will introduce the pending bills before the session ends. Meanwhile, the Congress and other opposition parties have issued whips directing their MPs to remain present in Parliament. The absence of the FCRA amendment, delimitation and women’s reservation proposals from the official Lok Sabha agenda has further fuelled speculation over their status.
