Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has criticized the Centre’s decision to impose a temporary ban on Telegram, describing it as a “new trick” by the Modi government. Reacting to the move, Rahul Gandhi alleged that instead of identifying and punishing those responsible for wrongdoing, the government was targeting ordinary users and creating difficulties for millions of people who rely on the messaging platform for communication and information sharing.
He argued that banning a platform would not address the root cause of issues such as misinformation or examination paper leaks. According to Rahul Gandhi, authorities should focus on tracking and taking action against the actual offenders rather than restricting access to a service used by the public. His remarks have added a political dimension to the ongoing debate surrounding the temporary restrictions imposed on Telegram.
