Amid continued disruptions during the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju reportedly met Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday, according to party sources. During the meeting held in Rijiju's chamber, he is said to have sought the Congress party's support for the Delimitation Bill and the Women's Reservation Amendment Bill.
However, Rahul Gandhi reportedly declined the government's request. Party sources said he maintained that Parliament's proceedings would not function normally until Union Home Minister Amit Shah issued a statement regarding the police action. The development is expected to prolong the ongoing deadlock in Parliament.
