Siddaramaiah Takes Key Decision in Politics

Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah announced that he will not contest any elections after the 2028 Karnataka Assembly polls. He said his decision was influenced by his advancing age and health issues. In a post on X, he mentioned that he is currently 79 years old and will be around 81-82 by the end of his term.

Siddaramaiah stated that his political journey, which began in 1978 as a Taluk Board member, will complete 50 years by 2028. Recalling his long political career, he said he always followed his principles and expressed concern over the changing nature of elections. However, he added that he will continue to remain active in public life and raise his voice for the people. DK Shivakumar is currently serving as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
