Chennai: Tamil Nadu Opposition leader Udhayanidhi Stalin strongly criticized the TVK government's budget, alleging that it lacked fresh initiatives and offered nothing beneficial for the public. He claimed that old welfare schemes were simply repackaged and presented as new programmes, accusing the government of merely adding the word "Vetri" to existing DMK schemes.
Udhayanidhi also pointed out that the budget made no mention of the Mekedatu project, calling it a major omission. Referring to his recent arrest, he alleged that it was part of a political diversion strategy aimed at shifting public attention away from key issues.
