George Kurian, Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, has resigned from the Union Council of Ministers. The resignation has been accepted by the President of India with immediate effect, according to an official statement issued by the government.
The statement noted that the President accepted the resignation on the advice of the Prime Minister under Clause (2) of Article 75 of the Constitution of India. With George Kurian’s exit, another vacancy has arisen in the Union Council of Ministers, adding to an already existing vacant position.
