A municipal corporation meeting in Karaikudi turned into a topic of discussion after an unexpected demand by an independent councillor created a light-hearted moment. During the general body meeting on Wednesday, councillors from various political parties alleged that development works were not being carried out in their respective wards. The discussion later shifted to photographs displayed in the council hall, with DMK and AIADMK councillors questioning why only Chief Minister Vijay's photograph was displayed while those of former Chief Ministers M.K. Stalin and Edappadi K. Palaniswami were absent. Following the protests, officials arranged to display photographs of the former Chief Ministers and other late leaders.
The meeting took an unexpected turn when Independent Councillor Mayor Hattat suddenly demanded that actress Trisha's photograph also be displayed in the council hall. He claimed that her photograph deserved a place, making remarks about the political developments in the state. His comments surprised those present and triggered laughter across the hall. A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention and reactions.
