Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has challenged BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao to announce a date and time to meet people who claim to have lost their voting rights. He said he would bring the affected voters along with supporting documents. Prabhakar stressed that any errors in the electoral rolls should be corrected and that every eligible citizen’s right to vote must be protected.
Prabhakar alleged that large numbers of votes had been deleted across the country and in Telangana, particularly affecting Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and minority communities. He urged the Election Commission to examine its records and disclose how many deleted votes belonged to ineligible voters and how many eligible voters may have been wrongly removed. Calling for the protection of democratic and constitutional rights, he urged people to unite under the slogan “Vote Bachao – Desh Bachao.” These figures and allegations reflect the minister’s claims.
