Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak questioned the donations collected for the Babri Masjid while accusing opposition parties of using the Ram Temple donation controversy for political purposes. Speaking in Mirzapur, he alleged that the Samajwadi Party and the Congress were engaging in appeasement politics to attract Muslim voters.
His remarks came after an FIR was registered in connection with the alleged embezzlement of donations and valuables at the Ram Temple. Based on the recommendations of a Special Investigation Team, police filed the case and arrested eight people. Pathak asked why similar questions were not being raised about the funds collected for the Babri Masjid.
