Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao has criticised the Congress government, alleging that it has failed to fulfil its promises to unemployed youth. He said the government had promised a job calendar, large-scale recruitment, monthly unemployment allowance and support for self-employment, but even after two years, young people are still waiting for jobs.
Rao also condemned the alleged lathi-charge on unemployed youth who gathered at Saroor Nagar Stadium seeking employment opportunities in HYDRA. He questioned the government over the delay in implementing the promised ₹4,000 unemployment allowance and interest-free loans of up to ₹10 lakh for self employment. He said the large turnout for just 150 HYDRA vacancies reflected the seriousness of unemployment among Telangana’s youth.
