Story:
Munna (Harshith Reddy), a carefree youngster from a middle-class family, spends most of his time with friends and often gets into trouble. His life changes when he falls in love with Amulya (Smeha Manimegalai), a government employee. The story revolves around his efforts to win her heart and the emotional journey that follows.
Plus Points:
The biggest strength of Deewana lies in its writing and character development. Every character contributes meaningfully to the story. Harshith Reddy delivers a career-best performance and impresses with his emotional portrayal. Smeha Manimegalai performs naturally and effectively. The father-son relationship, friendship angle, emotional moments, and strong second half add depth and engagement to the film.
Minus Points:
The first half moves at a slow pace and mainly serves as a setup for the second half. The hero’s attempts to impress the heroine become repetitive at times. Some scenes could have been trimmed for a tighter narrative. A few disturbing sequences may not appeal to all viewers.
Technical Department:
Director Sreekanth Sangishetty deserves appreciation for handling sensitive themes with maturity. Eswar Chand’s music is a major asset and enhances the emotional impact of the film. Vamsi Patchipulusu’s cinematography adds realism and visual appeal. The editing could have been sharper, while the production values remain impressive throughout.
Verdict:
Overall, Deewana is a sincere romantic drama with strong performances, effective writing, and emotional depth. Despite a slow first half, the film delivers a rewarding experience with a powerful second half and heartfelt storytelling. Fans of romantic dramas will find it worth watching.
