Asian Games: India in Fifth Place on the Medal Table

India enjoyed a remarkable day at the Asian Games, winning six gold medals in a single day. The country also added two silver and two bronze medals to its tally. Wrestler Sujeet delivered one of the gold medals, while boxers Lovlina Borgohain, Parveen Hooda and Ankushita Boro secured gold medals with impressive performances in the boxing arena.

The Indian women’s hockey team also added a golden chapter by winning the gold medal after a gap of 44 years. The women’s recurve archery team further strengthened India’s medal haul with a gold medal. With these performances, India’s overall medal tally reached 76, placing the country fifth in the standings.
