India faced Pakistan in the Asian Games gold-medal clash and posted 211/6 after batting first. Opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 15 off nine balls, including two sixes, before being dismissed by Saim Ayub. While Vaibhav walked back to the pavilion, Ayub appeared to celebrate by making gestures as if playing with a child, which drew attention during the match.
Abhishek Sharma then responded in style, hitting two boundaries and a six off Ayub’s bowling. Ayub finished his four-over spell with 47 runs at an economy rate of 11.80. Shivam Dube also struck two sixes and a boundary against him, while Tilak Varma added another boundary. Overall, India’s batters dominated Ayub after Vaibhav’s dismissal.
