BCCI Appoints Subhadeep Ghosh as Team India Fielding Coach

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named former Assam cricketer Subhadeep Ghosh as the new fielding coach of the Indian men's cricket team. He replaces T. Dilip, whose tenure recently came to an end. Ghosh is expected to officially begin his role with India's tour of Sri Lanka, scheduled to commence on August 7. He will join head coach Gautam Gambhir's support staff alongside batting coach Sitanshu Kotak and bowling coach Morne Morkel.

Subhadeep Ghosh has earned recognition through his work with several Indian age-group teams, and his appointment has been welcomed by the Assam Cricket Association. Meanwhile, T. Dilip served as India's fielding coach from 2021 to 2026 and introduced the popular "Best Fielding Medal" tradition during the 2023 ODI World Cup. Although his contract was extended after the 2025 Champions Trophy, the BCCI has now decided to move forward with a new coaching setup.
