India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has responded to criticism over the exclusion of young batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi from the T20I series against Ireland. He stated that the 15-year-old possesses the ability to play international cricket but stressed that he must follow the same selection process as every other player. The coach added that experienced players such as Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan also deserve consistent opportunities after their recent performances.
Vaibhav impressed everyone with his outstanding IPL campaign, finishing as the tournament's highest run-scorer while winning the Most Valuable Player and Emerging Player of the Season awards. Speculation is growing that he could make his international debut during the T20I series against England starting on July 1. If selected, he could become India's youngest-ever international debutant.
