Speculation over Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya's future has intensified, with reports suggesting he could leave the franchise ahead of the next IPL season. According to reports, seven franchises are interested in signing the all rounder, with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) leading the race. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are also reportedly keen, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are not believed to be in the race.
Pandya has reportedly shifted from Mumbai to Bengaluru to make the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) his permanent training base during the remainder of his career. The move is aimed at reducing long daily travel for training, and he is expected to train at the CoE whenever he is not on national or IPL duty.
Hardik endured a disappointing IPL 2026 season as both captain and player. Mumbai Indians won only 4 of their 14 matches and finished second from the bottom of the points table. Following the poor campaign, many MI fans criticised Pandya's leadership, leading to speculation that the franchise could trade him before the next season.
