

India A delivered a commanding all-round performance to secure a place in the final of the tri-nation series with a convincing 101-run victory over Afghanistan A on Wednesday. Batting first, India A posted an imposing total of 319/9 in their allotted 50 overs. Tilak Varma, Priyansh Arya, and Kumar Kushagra played crucial knocks, scoring 59, 58, and 58 runs respectively. Afghanistan A bowlers Farmanullah Safi, Abdullah Ahmadzai, and Faridoon Dawoodzai claimed two wickets each but were unable to contain the Indian batting lineup.
Needing to restrict Afghanistan A to 236 runs or fewer to qualify for the final on net run rate, India A achieved the target comfortably. Left-arm spinner Nishant Sindhu starred with the ball, claiming 4 wickets for 31 runs, as Afghanistan A were bowled out for 218 in 36.5 overs. Bahir Shah scored 57, while Faizal Shinwari contributed 46 runs, but the rest of the batting unit failed to build partnerships. Yash Thakur chipped in with two wickets. Despite losing their previous two matches, India A advanced to the final with four points and a superior net run rate. Nishant Sindhu was named Player of the Match.
