India Women registered a convincing five-wicket victory over Bangladesh Women in their ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 Group Stage encounter, strengthening their chances of reaching the semi-finals. After winning the toss, Bangladesh opted to bat first and posted 136/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Juwairiya Ferdous scored 33, while captain Nigar Sultana added 32. India's bowling attack was led by Radha Yadav, who claimed three crucial wickets for 28 runs, while Shree Charani picked up two wickets. Renuka Singh and Nandini Sharma chipped in with one wicket each to restrict Bangladesh to a modest total.

Chasing 137, India got off to a flying start thanks to Shafali Verma, who smashed 53 runs off just 34 balls, including eight fours and a six. Jemimah Rodrigues contributed 26, while Yastika Bhatia added 23 valuable runs. Although Ritu Moni claimed two wickets to briefly trouble India, the target was comfortably achieved in just 16.5 overs with five wickets in hand. Shafali Verma was deservedly named Player of the Match for her outstanding all-round performance, scoring a brilliant half-century and conceding just 11 runs in her two overs.
