The French Open continued to produce stunning results as top seed Aryna Sabalenka suffered a shock defeat in the women’s quarterfinals. Sabalenka lost 6-3, 5-7, 0-6 to Russia’s 25th seed Diana Shnaider. Meanwhile, Polish qualifier Maya Khalinska secured a historic place in her first-ever Grand Slam semifinal after defeating Anna Kalinskaya 7-6(3), 6-3.
In the men's draw, Czech player Jakub Mensik ended the impressive run of Brazil’s Joao Fonseca with a 6-4, 6-3, 7-6(3) victory to advance to the semifinals. Mensik will now face second seed Alexander Zverev. In the doubles quarterfinals, India’s Sriram Balaji and Brazil’s Marcelo Demoliner were eliminated after losing to the pair of Henry and Heliovaara.
