Indian triple jumper Selva Prabhu revealed that food poisoning and diarrhea just a week before the Commonwealth Games prevented him from competing at his best. The bronze medallist said he had expected to win the gold medal but was left physically weak due to illness, which affected his performance in the competition.
In the men's triple jump event, India's Praveen Chithravel secured the silver medal with a leap of 16.58 metres, while Selva Prabhu claimed bronze with a jump of 16.52 metres. Notably, both athletes hail from Tamil Nadu, highlighting the state's growing contribution to Indian athletics.
