India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka after failing to recover completely from a knee injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has extended his rehabilitation period and named Aaqib Nabi as his replacement in the Test squad.
Popularly known as the 'Jammu & Kashmir Express', Aaqib Nabi earned his maiden India call-up after impressive performances in domestic cricket. He claimed 104 wickets across the last two Ranji Trophy seasons and played a key role in Jammu & Kashmir's maiden Ranji Trophy triumph. He also impressed for India A in the recent unofficial Test series against Sri Lanka A by taking six wickets. India will play a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka from August 15 to 28 in Galle and Colombo, with Shubman Gill leading the side.
