Indian golfer Pranavi Urs created history at the 2026 Asian Games by winning the gold medal in the women’s individual golf event. She finished the competition at 15-under par, holding on to a narrow one-stroke lead in the final round. Her victory marks India’s first-ever Asian Games gold in women’s golf.
Pranavi’s historic triumph also contributed to India’s medal tally at the Games. The Indian women’s golf team, comprising Pranavi Urs, Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar, also secured a silver medal in the team event. India currently has 18 gold, 26 silver and 35 bronze medals, taking its overall tally to 79 and placing the country fifth in the medal standings.
