Rajat Patidar Gets Captaincy Responsibility in Duleep Trophy

The squads for the prestigious Duleep Trophy 2026 have been announced, with Central Zone and West Zone teams preparing for the tournament at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Rajat Patidar has been appointed as the captain of Central Zone, while power hitter Rinku Singh will serve as vice captain. The announcement has brought excitement among RCB fans, who are hoping for a title winning campaign under Patidar’s leadership.

India opener Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead West Zone, with Shams Mulani as vice captain, while Ishan Kishan will captain East Zone and Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be his deputy. The tournament, scheduled from August 23 to September 10, will mark the beginning of the 2026-27 Indian domestic cricket season. Six zonal teams will compete for the title, followed by the Irani Cup from October 1 and the Ranji Trophy season later.
